Inside an issue
Every issue carries articles, poems, stories, news items, jokes and letters to the editor. For a child it opens a window on a wider world. A general knowledge and puzzle-solving section keeps young minds working, and translated Assamese stories appear under the title Phuloni — mostly written by established writers, and both educational and entertaining. The writing is complemented throughout by illustration.
The magazine is characterised by its reader-friendly approach, its creative engagement with readers, and a price families can afford. The editorial team’s consistent aim is to stimulate children’s intellect by opening up many different aspects of life.

Which language is the magazine published in?
Assamese. Translated stories from elsewhere in the world appear in Assamese under the title Phuloni.
What age is it written for?
School-age children. The Trust’s examination is held for Classes III to VIII, and the magazine is written with readers of about that age in mind.
How can a child be published in SOFURA?
Children send in stories, poems and illustrations, and the magazine publishes a selection. See Participate for what to send.
