Become part of the SOFURA community

SOFURA has always been made partly by the children who read it. Here is how to take part, whether you are eight years old or a school principal.

Young writers

Send a story or a poem in Assamese. Write your name, class, school and district on the same sheet so the editors can write back.

Young illustrators

Send a drawing on plain paper. Dark, clear lines reproduce best in print. Do not fold it if you can avoid it.

Ask a question

The magazine has a section where students ask about anything and the editors answer. Send yours in a line or two.

Schools and teachers

Schools can enter students for the Talent Discovery & Scholarship Examination as a group, and can ask about copies for a library or classroom.

Parents

Ask about subscribing, about the examination, or about how to send a child’s work in for the first time.

Writers and contributors

Writers, translators and illustrators who would like to contribute to SOFURA are welcome to write to the editorial team.

Before you send something: everything published is chosen by the editors, and not every piece can appear. Work sent to SOFURA should be the child’s own. Postal and email submission addresses are content required and will be added once the Trust confirms them.
